Bathgate Thistle 2007 Whites decided that this season instead of having a paid sponsor on their jersey the parents, coaches and players would raise funds themselves to buy strips and promote SMILE Counselling by wearing our logo on their home and away strips.
The coaching team of Bathgate Thistle 07 Whites, Peter Graham, Paul Marr, Mark Miller and Steven Allan worked closely with the parents and players and the decision to approach SMILE was unanimous.
Vice chairman, Paul Marr, said: “As we all adapt and evolve in these uncertain times and look to adjust our lifestyles and move forward, we feel lucky that we have the opportunity to work with and coach a team of 12 and 13 year old footballers. We are in a very fortunate position to able to have a positive influence on the lives of our team members and provide a safe and supportive environment for each of the players. We do however understand that not everyone is so fortunate which is why the work charities like SMILE perform is priceless in our local community. We are therefore delighted to be able to work with them and promote the excellent work they are doing.”
