About S.M.I.L.E. Counselling

S.M.I.L.E. Counselling is a West Lothian-based charity dedicated to improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people aged 11–26. As the largest provider of school-based counselling in the region, we offer early intervention support across West Lothian and beyond, working both in schools and from our dedicated Hub in Livingston. The Hub features six counselling rooms, including a sensory space designed specifically for neurodiverse young people.

Since launching in 2015, we’ve delivered over 18,000 counselling sessions and supported more than 3,000 young people through challenges such as anxiety, low mood, trauma, self-harm and bereavement. Our team of counsellors are committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people feel listened to, supported, and empowered to move forward in their lives.
